First Communion students and parents, 

We are so sad that, because of the Coronavirus pandemic, we were not able to celebrate your First Holy Communion earlier this month. I know you were all very excited and ready to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. The Bishop has given some guidelines to keep everyone safe and allow us to come together for public Mass again. So we excited to announce a date for your First Reconciliation and First Communion. 

First Reconciliation
May 30 at 1:00pm
- Make sure you have practiced the Act of Contrition and that you are prepared with the sins that you will confess to Fr. Devin to ask for God's forgiveness. 

First Communion Mass
June 13th at 1:00pm
- If you cannot be present on this date, you will be able to receive the Eucharist on a Sunday before or after that date (at the 9:00am Mass in English or the 12:30pm Mass in Spanish). Please call Fr. Devin if you need to make arrangements for another date for your First Communion (316-283-3499).

With these dates, we will still have to make a few changes to how we celebrate with all of you. We know that this is not exactly how we would WANT to celebrate this joyous occasion, but it is the only way we can ensure the safety of everyone involved. 

• No reception afterwards in the Hall. 
• Reserved seats for immediate family only.  To maintain social distancing inside the church, anyone who lives in a different house needs to be seated 6 feet away. Guests or extended family may attend, but they will likely not be able to be seated in the church. We do have overflow seating in the Parish Hall, where they could watch the livestream and receive Communion at that Mass, but we want to make sure they understand that before they arrive at church. 
• Each person, including First Communion students, will be expected to wear a face covering. This can be a simply cloth face covering or a disposable mask.

We will have a practice on Friday, June 12th at 6:30pm for 1st Communion. This isn’t required, but will be helpful for you to see what these changes will look like and will hopefully help each student feel more prepared and comfortable with receive the Eucharist.

Estudiantes y padres de Primera Comunión,

Estamos muy tristes que, por causa de la pandemia del Coronavirus, no pudimos celebrar tu Santa Primera Comunión a principios de este mes. Yo sé que todos estaban muy emocionados y listos para recibir a Jesús en la Eucaristía. El Obispo ha dado algunas guías para mantener a todos salvos y permitirnos el reunirnos para celebrar la Misa de nuevo. Así es que estamos emocionados al anunciar la fecha para su Primera Reconciliación y Primera Comunión. 

Primera Reconciliación
Mayo 30 a la 1:00pm
 - Asegúrese de practicar el Acto de Contrición y que estés preparado con los pecados que le confesaras a el Padre Devin para pedir el perdón de Dios.

Misa de Primera Comunión
June 13th a la 1:00pm
 - Si no puede estar presente en esta fecha, podrá recibir la Eucaristía en un domingo antes o después de esta fecha (en la misa de Inglés a las 9:00am o en la misa de español a las 12:30pm). Por favor háblele al Padre Devin si necesita hacer arreglos para otra fecha para la Primera Comunión (316-283-3499). 

Con estas fechas, aún tendremos que hacer algunos cambios en cómo celebraremos con todos ustedes. Sabemos que esto no es exactamente como nos hubiera GUSTADO celebrar gozosamente esta ocasión, pero es la única manera de mantener la seguridad de todos los involucrados.
 - No habrá recepción después de la ceremonia en el salón.
 - Habrá asientos reservados para la familia inmediata solamente. Para mantener la distancia social dentro de la iglesia, cualquier persona que viva en otra casa necesitará sentarse 6 pies de distancia. Invitados o familia extendida podrá asistir, pero lo más probable es que no puedan sentarse dentro de la iglesia. Tendremos asientos en el salón parroquial, donde se estará transmitiendo la ceremonia en vivo y allí podrán recibir la Comunión en esta misa. Nada más queremos asegurarnos de que antes de que lleguen a la iglesia sepan esto.
 - Cada persona, incluyendo estudiantes de Primer Comunión, tendrán que utilizar una mascarilla. Esto simplemente puede ser una tela cubriendo la boca y nariz o una mascarilla desechable.

Tendremos un ensayo el viernes, 12 de Junio a las 6:30pm para la Primera Comunión. No es requerido que atiendan, pero sería útil para que vieran como se verán estos cambios y tenemos la esperanza de que cada estudiante se sienta más preparado y agosto con el recibir la Eucaristía.
